Rosewood Fuschl for Bauer Stahl Architects

Timeless elegance in design for Rosewood Fuschl by the architects duo Bauer-Stahl.

Protecting the legacy

Few places carry the emotional weight and cinematic history of Schloss Fuschl. Known around the world from its appearance in the iconic Sisi films, this lakeside landmark holds a special place in many hearts.

Recently reopened after an extensive renovation, the hotel has been carefully reimagined to honor its storied past while embracing a modern sensibility. One of the leading interior design firms was entrusted with this delicate task—responsible for breathing new life into many of the hotel’s most important rooms.

I had the privilege of photographing their work, with a special focus on the textures, materials, and design details that pay quiet homage to the building’s history. For a project so rich in meaning, the design needed to speak in subtle tones—timeless, elegant, and grounded in place.

It was an honor to help capture the spirit of this transformation and the thoughtful vision behind it.
